Much smaller than the puma....

Way back our family used to go down to East Kilbride or more exactly the countryside outside east kilbride. This was our chance to see some countryside and the huts down there were used by people from Glasgow mainly. The owner knew ourpeople from way back to the second world war and only asked for £5 a year.We got used to the animal life down there andthought we knew everything there was to know about them in the area so it came as a bit of a shock when the local news-papers,zoo people, farmers and others were running around after a local farm had a puma fall upon their geese in the middle ofthe night.Funny enough we did not talk about it much maybe because the farm was 8 miles away (I know, pumas can movequickly enough lol),or because many of the people making use of the huts were going home and leaving us alone and this madeour mother uneasy. Some of our relatives came down and it was busy again and nobody spoke about the "Eaglesham puma".Nevertheless, thatnight everyone was sitting playing at cards or watching the game generally facing the outside door (it was dark outside and you could see fields beyond).Just as an aunt was about to put a card down------good hand too-----a small animal that didlook totally black just popped up at the door.Maybe nobody was really used to animal life but everyone started jumping about. The cards went everywhere, the children there started screaming and some made for the door. The small creature had long ears and had seemed to rest its front paws on the threshold of the door but now it threw itself backwards and out of sight. After a while everyone calmed down and even then I wondered why they went crazy like that.Nevertheless mum decided tocall it a day and everyone went back home that very night.
