I often wonder what this world would be like if the whole of humanity came to their senses and realized there is no death. Not only that, also the fact that we are all One. Fighting against one another is just as ridiculous as your right arm battling it out with your left. It sounds silly doesn't it but that is the reality of it.
So why does man need to fight against himself, why do people need to have power and control over one another? Why is there so much hate, violence and greed in this world? The answer is quite simple to me. It all stems from the one thing, the illusion of disconnection or separateness.
I try and see our world from a spirit perspective and in doing this it becomes clear to me why spirit come through time and time again with messages to prove to us that there is no death. Life continues beyond the death of the physical body and for me as a medium this is something I know is true, a fact that has changed my whole view of life.
There was a time where I thought mediumship was merely to bring some peace of mind to those people who are suffering the devastating pain grief can often bring. As I learnt more about spirit and the purpose of mediumship, the perspective from which I saw the reasons for this phenomena have evolved and now I feel I have a greater understanding.
The way humanity has evolved has created a society that is very materialistic and sadly we are still under the illusion that life is meant to be a certain way. Our whole perspective seems to be wrong; I believe more highly evolved spirits are trying to help us understand the truth about the meaning of life.
Paradoxically we are now living at a time where we are both at a crisis point and breakthrough into a new world view. Science and spirit have almost met and I feel that there will be a dramatic shift in the way people think, which will not be an easy transition. I feel that Spirit of a higher vibratory level who we would consider to be teachers and guides are already helping with this and will continue to do so.
Spirit obviously have a greater understanding of the Universe than those confined to the limitations of time and space and helping us to understand that we are immortal beings and are connected and inseparable on every level. Learning is an ongoing process that doesn't end after our physical bodies die but carries on for eternity.
So what would constitute as evidence of survival?
It is human nature to question and I feel it is healthy to be skeptical to a certain degree. I actually feel that mediums are interestingly enough some of the most skeptical of sitters when receiving a message from another medium from one of their loved ones in the world of Spirit. Sadly there are too many psychics who are not actually mediumistic. I don't feel these people are purposely trying to fool anybody, they just don't know the difference.
Evidence can be a combination of a description of the spirit that is communicating, not just a physical description but the spirit person's personality and other relevant information. This information could be the cause of passing and other ailments, the age at which they were on passing, their career, their likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses, significant dates and special memories shared. All this information should be given in a positive yet honest manner.
Names are not really classed as evidence but can sometimes be indisputable. For example just stating there is a Mary or a John connected could apply to most people, but giving the full names or maybe the names of all of the siblings in a family would certainly constitute as good evidence.
A good reader should also be able to give some proof that they are still around the sitter at the time of the reading. So to mention something that was happening in the sitters' life at the moment the reading takes place is certainly part of what I would consider to be evidence.
One last thing I cannot forget to mention would be probably the most important piece of evidence there is. This would be something that the sitter does not know but would be able to ask someone about. This could be something like mentioning something personal that the sitter had never been told.
I have on a few occasions been told by the spirit communicator they had say for example 4 children but the sitter would have only known of 3. The sitter hopefully would at a later date discover that their loved one in spirit had actually carried 4 children but one sadly never made it to this world. We have to remember also that it isn't always family and friends that come through with a message but perhaps someone we didn't actually know very well.
Some people before the passing of a person to spirit ask for something in particular to be passed on when the reach the world of spirit. This could be anything and is one of the reasons a medium should never embellish the information spirit give.
The sitter may be waiting to hear one thing for example a black cat, not a story about a cat who was asleep in front of the fire in aunty Anne's house. The dressing up of the simple truth could cause a sitter to misunderstand something very relevant and pass it off.
This kind of evidence can therefore never be passed off as simply "Reading the sitters' mind" which would be information gained at a psychic level. If the sitter truly was not aware of a certain detail then even the most difficult person to convince has to ask themselves "so where did this information come from?"
Acknowledging our spiritual selves and our immortality is a truly enlightening experience which can have a dramatic impact on the whole of our lives. I feel all to often we underestimate the wealth of the sharing of this knowledge and the importance of the work of a medium.
